## How it works

New to API keys? It's easier than it sounds. An API key is a personal access code for an AI company such as OpenAI or DeepSeek: create one on their website in about two minutes, add a few dollars of credit there, then paste it here once. You pay them only for what you actually use — often just cents a month — and My Assistant does everything else.

1. Subscribe with PayPal above — €1.99 a month, renewing by itself.
2. Get an API key from your AI provider — for example at platform.openai.com or platform.deepseek.com — and paste it in ⚙️ Settings: it's recognised, checked and stored encrypted automatically.
3. Start chatting. For DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Moonshot and SiliconFlow keys, the balance shows in Settings, in your own currency.
4. Cancel anytime in ⚙️ Settings → Cancel my subscription — you keep full access until the end of the month you paid for.

Your AI usage is billed by your own provider, from your own account, at their prices — the €1.99 covers My Assistant itself.
